Return to Rootedness: A Continuum Exploration

Original price was: £35.00.Current price is: £25.00.

The more fluid we are, the more we are able to melt into the support under us. We can also use our subtler awareness to sense into the earth. We may have a sense of being connected via mycelia-like strands to a vast web of all of nature – land, water, and Cosmos. This is the terrain for this special class.

How would your life and body be different if you felt truly, deeply, easily connected to Mother Earth, a continuum with all beings, and all that is? If you are curious, please join us for this special 3-hour immersion in the fluid practice of Continuum.

Technically speaking, our bodies are not exactly ours. What we call a body is an open-ended expression of an ongoing universal process that is in constant flux, arranging, re-arranging, and experimenting as new formations come into existence. The continuum of life on land takes place with the galaxy and humans alike.” – Emilie Conrad

When we arrive in this life, we begin a journey of landing on earth. The fetus in the womb roots into Mother via the umbilical cord. Legs grow around the cord unlike arms that grow in relation to the heart. Arms are for expressing and communicating from the heart. Legs are for grounding, rooting into Mother Earth.

It takes the human baby a year or so to come to standing. Before this, we root into Mother, most effectively through the belly and mouth, the front of the body.

As we learn to stand, our orientation shifts. We become increasingly independent from Mother and are meant to shift our rootedness to the Great Mother.

Modern life interferes with this in multiple ways. We can lose our sense of ground, our sense of connection and respect for the planet we stand upon, and for each other.

Continuum uses breaths, vocal sounding, and mindful movement to slow ourselves down, hone our senses, dissolve density in our tissues and our psyches, and so return to our original fluid nature.

One aspect of Continuum is about sensing and moving in relationship to the space around us, including what is under us. We begin a Continuum practice with checking in with our sense of breath and what we call “ground.”This refers to how we make contact with and rest into the support of gravity, Mother Earth, under us. This directly relates to our fluidity, the main focus of Continuum.

The more fluid we are, the more we are able to melt into the support under us. We can also use our subtler awareness to sense into the earth. We may have a sense of being connected via mycelia-like strands to a vast web of all of nature – land, water, and Cosmos. This is the terrain for this special class.
