Overview
Please join us to learn through your own body the mysteries of Craniosacral Biodynamics in this video recording of a special 3-hour Continuum webinar class.
Craniosacral Biodynamics is a gentle hands on bodywork practice that works with formative forces guiding our formation and development as little embryos in the womb and throughout life. Its foundation is in the perceptions of William G. Sutherland, father of Cranial Osteopathy, who focused increasingly on a mysterious presence generating life he called The Breath of Life. In Biodynamics, we experience fluidic and energetic phenomena commonly also sensed in Continuum.
Continuum is a somatic movement practice, developed over almost 50 years by the late Emilie Conrad. It can be described as an inquiry into our fluid nature.
In this webinar class, we explore the overlap between Continuum and Biodynamics. We look at some important perceptual concepts in Biodynamics and engage in fluid exploration using the breaths, sounding, gentle movement and mindful awareness of Continuum. You will receive a PDF of the PowerPoint presentation as well as access to the video recording.
“Sutherland considered the goal of Osteopathic treatment to be the free movement of all the fluids of the body across their interfaces. Continuum practice addresses the same issues by empowering each individual to engage their own fluidity and to stimulate movement of the fluids themselves as well as the body as the fluid container”
– Bonnie Gintis, Biodynamic Cranial Osteopath and Continuum Teacher
In this 3-hour webinar class we discuss some concepts from Biodynamics and compare them to similar ideas in Continuum. We then learn a short Continuum sequence of breaths, sounds and movement and take an extended period of time to explore the sequence in your own timing. This time to be beyond the direct influence of time is important in Continuum as a way to deepen further under our habits, patterns and tendencies, returning to our fluid essence.
In the process of slowing down and deeply listening in Continuum, we enter similar territories to those perceived in Biodynamic session work.
It is often said that practicing Continuum is like giving yourself a Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy session!
If you are curious about or want to deepen your understanding of Biodynamics or Continuum, or if you long to slow down, rest deeply, dissolve areas of holding in your body, and emerge renewed and rejuvenated, please join us!
