Founder of Continuum Emilie Conrad often referred to the tongue as a primordial emissary. An important boneless structure in our bodies, the tongue can move with remarkable fluidity, returning us if we pay attention to our original primordial state. Exploring sensation and movement in the tongue we enhance our sense of fluid potential, effortless strength, flexibility, and creative originality.

In this webinar class, we practice the breaths, sounds and subtle mindful movement of Continuum with particular interest in the tongue and face. Potential benefits include deep relaxation, release of stress particularly that held in the tongue, face, and neck, dissolving old patterning and habits to liberate ourselves into creative aliveness.
Releasing tension and patterning in the tongue can profoundly affect tension and pain in the neck and jaw, which is often reflected lower in the body in the back, hips, pelvis, and even the arms and legs. You may also find yourself looking and feeling younger and more playful, even as if you’ve had a face lift! When is the last time you allowed yourself to play with or explore your tongue?
Children and animals do it all the time, but did you learn growing up to keep your tongue restrained, hold your tongue, don’t make faces, present a mask to hide your ture feelings, to look and be more acceptable…? This creates holding patterns and tension in the important muscles of our tongue, cheeks, neck, etc. Come play againand discover what creative aliveness you may have left behind!
